US Premier of Travelling Hybrid Exhibit: “The Luxembourgish Language(s).”

The Zenter fir d’Lëtzebuerger Sprooch (ZLS) is launching its new hybrid traveling exhibition: “The Luxembourgish language(s)”. Based on the exhibit in Luxembourg, this new traveling experience invites guests to dive into the fascinating world of languages in Luxembourg. Discover how multilingualism shapes everyday life in Luxembourg, explore the varieties and dialects of Luxembourgish, and trace its evolution over time. Along the way, encounter how Luxembourgish comes to life in literature, media, and everyday communication. Brand-new sections also highlight education and how various patterns of migration have marked Luxembourg’s history. This will be the debut of the hybrid exhibition here in the USA. During this official premiere in Belgium, WI, Sarah Muller, a member of the ZLS team, will be on site to guide visitors through the exhibition.

While this exhibit will be on display for individuals to explore on their own, we welcome guests to sign up for guided tours. During Fest weekend, guided tours will take place at 10am and 2pm Thursday August 6th through Sunday August 9th. Tour registration signups in person at the LACS during the weekend – limited participant capacity available per tour.

Sarah Muller works as a sociolinguist at the ZLS, where she oversees the hybrid exhibition The Luxembourgish language(s). She holds a Ph.D. in educational sociolinguistics, specializing in multilingualism in education. She is passionate about exploring the social dimensions of language and people’s lived experiences of it.
