Frosty Free Days (Jan 29th-Feb 1st, 2025)

Jan 29 10:00 AM - Feb 01 04:00 PM

The Luxembourg American Cultural Society invites all residents of Ozaukee, Washington, Sheboygan, & Milwaukee counties to come explore its museum at no charge during the annual “LACS Frosty Free Days” January 29th through February 1st, 2025. Free admission is offered to those residents during regularly scheduled open hours: 10 am – 4 pm. Wednesday through Saturday of that week. Kids activities and Luxembourg Merchandise gift shop will be available. There will be a door prize drawing for guests who visit during the LACS Frosty Free Days.  Proof of residency is required for free admission.

Explore the history of Luxembourg immigration to America in the Roots & Leaves Museum. Guests can learn about the impact that Luxembourg immigrants and their descendants have had on life in America. Currently located at 100 Peter Thein Avenue Belgium, WI, the Museum is housed in the rebuilt Mamer-Hansen Luxembourgian stone barn originally built in 1872. Featuring an exhibit space crafted by Luxembourgish artisans with Luxembourg historical items from the country’s ministry of Culture, the museum honors Luxembourg, the world’s only Grand Duchy throughout. The Cultural Center also features the J. B. Krier Wëllkomm Centre, home of the Luxembourg American Family Tree – a nostalgia-inducing sculpture created in Luxembourg, and a gift shop including a variety of Luxembourgish-themed items available for purchase.

The Dooley-Wagner Research Center, another unique facet of the Luxembourg American Cultural Center, is the largest research center for Luxembourg studies and genealogy outside of Luxembourg. It is a treasure trove of information and resources for historians, genealogists and researchers. *LACS Frosty Free Days includes free access to the Research Center, but is open by appointment only. Appointments can be made by contacting Caitlin Armstrong via email carmstrong@lacs.lu.
