A Dual Citizen Life

Free – $5.00
Apr 02 11:00 AM - Apr 02 12:00 PM

SOLD OUT!

Interested in learning what it’s like to become a Dual Citizen of Luxembourg?

Join us for a conversation with some LACS members as they recount their experiences going through the Dual Citizenship reclamation process. They will share why they decided to go through the process and how becoming a citizen of Luxembourg has created new opportunities for them and has helped them connect with their heritage.

This program will be offered through Zoom on Saturday, April 2, at 11am Central Time. Members, please sign in when requesting your ticket.* The Zoom link will be emailed after ticket purchase, and we will send a reminder email a day or two prior to the event.

This program is sold out! A recording will be made available for members after the program.

*This session will not address specific questions about how to go through the dual citizenship process. If you have specific questions about your process, please contact Citizenship Advocate Rosie Geib, rgeib@lacs.lu.

Our panelists

Dennis Ansay, along with his family, currently lives in Luxembourg after claiming his dual citizenship in 2021. According to Dennis, the most important reason for getting Luxembourg Citizenship was to provide opportunities for his son. As a Luxembourg citizen his son has a choice to be in Europe to go to college or start a career. This is also the reason Dennis and his family chose to move to Luxembourg so he can experience life here, learn a second language and gain a broader point of view.

Stephen Befort serves on the LACS Board of Directors and has been involved with the organization since the beginning. According to Steve, he decided to go through the process of claiming citizenship because he is proud of his heritage and wants to connect with Luxembourg. He also saw the potential for himself and for his two daughters to live, study, and work in Luxembourg or the European Union.

Michele and David Skogerboe took the step of moving to the Netherlands for graduate school due to David’s qualification for Luxembourgish citizenship through Article 89. Michele was able to apply for citizenship by option because she was married for at least 3 years to David, a Luxembourg citizen. David and his family were able to reclaim their citizenship through documents and family heritage, but Michele earned hers through education and testing.
