Dual Citizenship

The #1 Institution in the U.S. for Helping Reclaim Your Luxembourg Citizenship!

"Natalie and I are back from Europe and our paperwork in Luxembourg went very smoothly.  Your map and instructions were perfect. Thank you again for your help.  As I'm sure you hear over and over, there is no way I could have done this on my own."

 -Philip Kronebusch

"Thank you for all your help in getting me to Luxembourg and presenting my documents without any trouble.  The process was simple and smooth, and what a beautiful country this is! Thanks so much!"

 -Emily Childs

In 2008, the Luxembourg government enacted law which allowed for dual nationality. This law further allowed that from 2008 - 2018, qualifying individuals of direct-line Luxembourg ancestry, who were not Luxembourg citizens, could reclaim their Luxembourg nationality and acquire a Luxembourg/EU passport.

Information about the Reclamation of Luxembourg Nationality process is available on the official website of Luxembourg's Ministry of Justice: DUAL CITIZENSHIP.

Because of the challenges and complexities of this process, the LACS offers a full service, fee-based, consultation process as well as vast genealogical resources to assist individuals in determining if they qualify for reclamation of Luxembourg nationality and to assist them through the process from start to finish.

IMPORTANT DATES:

Stage 1: By December 31, 2018, you must request from the Luxembourg Ministry of Justice certification confirming that they are a descendant of an ancestor who was Luxembourgish on January 1, 1900.

Stage 2: By December 31, 2020, you must sign, in the presence of a civil registrar, a declaration to reclaim Luxembourgish nationality.
